Are there different health benefits from Hemlock or Red Cedar construction?
Jenny Neve
Hello Jenny and thank you for your inquiry. An acceptable wood for saunas has to be of a type that does not off-gas when it gets hot.
Both Hemlock and Cedar are good woods for this purpose, but Cedar is much more expensive. To keep costs down, hemlock has become very popular. Some people also have allergy concerns with Cedar, which are much less likely with cedar.
